Southwestern Indiana Association of Health Underwriters Receives NAHU's Pacesetter Award

The Southwestern Indiana Association of Health Underwriters recently received the Pacesetter Award at the National Association of Health Underwriter’s Annual Convention in Chicago, IL.  

The Pacesetter Award honors local association chapters for outstanding achievements in service to their members, the industry and the public.

“The judges felt the SW Indiana chapter exemplifies the dedication to providing the best opportunities for our members this award recognizes,” said Carolyn Beck, chapter president.  “This year, our chapter organized Health Insurance Awareness Week in our local community and hosted many hours of free continuing education to further our members’ educational efforts.  These projects and many others have set a standard of excellence in the health insurance industry that we are proud to represent.”

The mission of SWIAHU is to improve its members’ ability to meet the health, financial and retirement security needs of all Americans through education, advocacy and professional developments.  SWIAHU members adhere to the highest ethical standards of conduct in the industry.

Evansville, IN — Jane Haag of Haag Insurance Services and Marlene Bowen of Mehringer & Associates, recently qualified as a Triple Crown recipients for the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU). NAHU’s Triple Crown Program recognizes its members whose individual contributions to NAHU have helped advance the association’s mission.  Specifically, this program recognizes members who make significant contributions in member recruitment and advocacy that strengthen NAHU’s stance in the industry.

Congratulations to Brenda Rehl for winning Member of the Year! Brenda is our Education Chair and works very hard to organize our member meetings by contacting sponsors and speakers that bring value to your mem-bership. Brenda was nominated by her peers for this deserving award.

Here are a few comments that reflect the hard work and dedication Brenda brings to SWIAHU.
Brenda is reliable, always at the meetings, keeps the calendar accurate and up-to-date. She works diligently so that we have speakers and sponsors every month. Brenda is always willing to help out with committee’s (i.e. golf, fundraising) and be an active part of SWIAHU.

It takes people like Brenda to make our association a success. Since taking on education/programs chair, Brenda has always come through with a speaker and worked diligently to get calendar finalized ahead of time. In addition to her volunteer role on the SWIAHU Board, Brenda works full time at St. Mary’s Health System where she is the Provider Service & Credentialing Coordinator for St. Mary’s SelectHealth Network.

The Southwest Indiana Chapter of NAHU was honored with the CHAPTER OF THE YEAR award!
The annual Award banquet was held August 27th in Indianapolis where 7 of the 10 board members were present to receive this prestigious award!
It was so thrilling to be honored with this recognition for the hard work that this local chapter does for the community, the membership and the NAHU organization. Outlined is a listing of what SWIAHU has accomplished for the 2008/2009 years.
